Google Webmaster Tools team recently have made it more easier to Website Owners and Webmasters to remove or block any URL (unwanted pages) of their website from Google’s Search results.
If your private or out-of-date content is appearing in Google search results, you can use this Removal URL tool to request its removal. The removal URL tool will appear in Crawler access options under Site Configuration panel for your website in Google webmaster tools.

When you request a page URL removal, the request will be temporary and persists for at least 90 days. Google may continue to crawl your page during those 90-day period but will not display it in the search results.
But if you want that URL permanently removed, then Google recommends you should go with the old processes like blocking the page through robots.txt and noindex META tag.
