Google recent algorithm update to stop SPAM and improve search results has got its real name i.e. Panda Update through an interview by Wired team with Google employees Amit Singhal and well known Matt Cutts.
They revealed that they internally called it “Big Panda” because of the key person behind this algorithm whose name is Panda.
PANDA DON’T LIKE LOW-QUALITY SITES.
Google is trying to make their search results more better with this update and call high-quality content websites into top rankings. And that’s how many of websites got big downfalls in their keyword rankings. There are lots of SEOs and webmasters suffered from it and some of are still suffering.
I personally know many SEOs and webmasters from popular SEO companies and Web Development companies in India and outside who have got continuous fall in the keyword rankings since 8th of Feb, 2011.
Now, the question is if you are affected, then how to regain your website keywords and save your website from this big panda update? Check these tips -
- Change your content immediately if you have got sudden downfall in Google rankings. – If you are affected, it means you might be lined in low-quality sites. Better to change your content now.
- Improve your content. – Write for your targeted visitors instead of just search engine robots.
- Don’t duplicate content within the website. It has no use creating pages with the same content. Why fooling your visitors and search engine crawlers?
- Don’t use content from any other website. – This is an unethical practice and you can be banned through Google for it.
- Make your website SPAM free. – Always monitor your website through Google webmaster tools which can tell you about malwares in your website.
- Don’t use any software to generate your content. Hire a professional writer who knows about SEO copywriting.
- Don’t publish your website content in any other content syndication website. – If you are in the process of build your reputation online, then create a separate content for publications. Never use your own website content.

Google Panda is a nice thing. It will finely clean the bad article we find on the web. It will arrive in France in a few week I guess.
You’re right, SEOs should always improve on their content. With google basically relying on social signals and content quality for relevance, it’s an imperative for SEOs to play the role of legitimate marketers that caters to people, not to search engines.
